Something evil is going on out there...
Detective Ange Watson always knew policing was a hard job. A dangerous job. But she never expected to take a bullet in the line of duty
And now it seems her superiors are willing to throw Ange under the bus to cover up their own mistakes. While she isnt easily intimidated, everyone has their limits.
But when a scared young Vietnamese woman seeks refuge in a country church, it sets in motion a chain of events that will push Anges ingenuity and determination to its limits. No human being deserves to be sold to the highest bidder, and Anges blood boils over when she realises that the world would prefer to look the other way.
In a harsh and unforgiving landscape, with corruption everywhere and trust hard to come by, Ange will have to tread carefully as she races to prevent more tragedy. It seems that some lives are considered expendable.
Life was never meant to be easy
Read what others say about The Saltwater Crimes Trilogy; The Saltwater Crime novels are evocative Australian surf noir (if thats not a thing, it should be), a cross between Garry Disher and early Don Winslow, and combine environmental activism, political corruption, star chamber hearings, suspicious property developers, and a few sexy bits. Highly recommended!! Sarah Elks, book reviewer and senior journalist at The Australian newspaper.
Beautifully written the descriptions of the surf and surfing to the landscape I felt I was there.
Do yourself a favour and purchase the 3 book series by PG Robertson. I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good detective story with a strong but relatable heroine, who loves the great outdoors, especially the beaches and surfing and is keen to visit, or who has grown up on, the east coast of Australia. PG Robertson describes the cities and coastal towns beautifully and you feel like you are riding the wave with Ange in the surfing scenes.
After binge reading books 1 and 2, I couldnt wait to find out how it all came together. While satisfied with the ending, I was pleased to see PG Robertson left the door open for more to come. I really enjoyed this series. So entertaining, and learned some stuff too, highly recommend this author.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this series. Great for anyone planning to visit Australia as it captures place and language very well.
