Indictment for Murder

Jonathan Wentworth Playfair, Knight of the Realm and sometime Judge of the High Court, is standing trial for murder. But while the Prosecutor tells the court of Trelawney's death, Jonathan is far away - in North Africa witnessing another man's death from a bullet through the forehead.
