Devil's Shelter

Joining Ramble House's other R.R. Ryan novels (The Subjugated Beast, Freak Museum, Echo of a Curse and Death of a Sadist) this 1937 thriller has a classic set-up for a horror novel: a young woman, traveling alone, is caught up in a rainstorm and seeks shelter in what turns out to be an insane asylum. But R.R. Ryan, recently tracked down and identified by John Pelan, is not just any weird menace author. The asylum and its inhabitants are far more ominous than you can imagine.
