Driven by Fear

When Lasser is called out to the fatal hit and run he can feel the anger twisting inside at the senseless killing of the unknown woman. But this is only the start and the deeper the team delve into the incident the more confusing the whole thing becomes.
Rea Lomax had been the one to discover the body and she had done the right thing and called for help though now she has vanished.
As far as Lasser is concerned it would not be the first time that someone involved in a fatal hit and run had panicked and then gone into hiding.
Yet this feels different, this feels wrong and what he cannot fathom is what the victim had been doing running out onto the lane at gone midnight, a lane that snakes over miles of open fields, no houses close by, no pedestrians milling about.
As things began to take shape the team come to realise that the victim wasn't simply running, she was being chased and now they are left with the mystery of who she was fleeing from and what has happened to Rea Lomax the woman who called for assistance, the woman who has vanished as if she had never even existed at all?
With time running out they must unravel the mystery and delve back through a dark history to hunt those responsible before it is too late for the missing Rea Lomax.
