(2024)
(The fourth book in the Allen Crane series)
A novel by

It's been two weeks since mystery writer, Allen Crane, solved the cold case of the Culvette Five, and he and his mutt, Frankie, are settling into island life on Natchatee Island. In those two weeks, Allen has closed on the old Crossway House, the beach house he'd been renting for six weeks. Corey and Page Castle, his next door neighbors, have thrown him a housewarming party. He's had a book signing at the local bookstore. He's even getting his own section in the Natchatee Library, thanks to his new friend and librarian, Millie Oldfield.

With Allen's writer's block far behind him, the days are filled with sunrises, sunsets, walking with Frankie on the beach, and pecking away at the keyboard. Every day in Paradise is better than the day before. But that's all about to change.
When a local person—A friend of Allen's—is brutally attacked, beaten, and winds up in a coma, Natachatee Island's acting chief of police calls on Allen for help. And, of course, Allen is eager to oblige. The young, inexperienced officer, with his new position thrust upon him after the death of Chief of Police Harwood Butz, along with Allen Crane, navigate the clues to solve another island mystery.
