A novel by

"My friends are vulnerable, but I can protect them."

As everyone at the Academy goes about their lives without the faintest knowledge of the darkness that exists around them – and the crimes of a certain professor - Ana finds herself and Fyrenza entered into a field day within the academy. It’s an opportunity to test herself and her phoenix against the experienced dragon riders, and Fyrenza can hardly contain her excitement.

When Fyrenza is injured in an exercise, however, Ana is left without one more line of defence, and crucially, the only thing keeping her in high regard at the academy.

Meanwhile, Ginger’s unpredictable powers are undiminished. She’s capable of untold power, and undoubtedly will be wanted dead or alive for it. Ana knows they have to treat her carefully, and protect her at all costs.

As the malevolent Dove and her fawning friends pursue and bully Ana and Ginger, unforeseen consequences befall her, and Ana is forced to both treat Dove’s wounds, and become her unlikely captor until she promises never to tell of Ginger’s remarkable but dangerous powers.

With Professor Ionadi still hiding in the shadows, waiting to strike, how long can Ana keep everyone she holds dear safe?
