The Book of Wishes and Complaints

The story centres around a small-town girl, Hana, and is set in Czechoslovakia from the 1950s to the eve of the 1989 revolution. Events, both political and personal, involve Hana in a dramatic search for her freedom, involving betrayal, sexual obsession and flight.
