Adam Simcox recommends
A Reluctant Spy (2024)
David Goodman
"Gleaming with freshness and verve, A Reluctant Spy is a pulse-pounding, twisting thrill-a-minute read that Slow Horses fans are going to absolutely love. There's a new spy king in town..."
The Last Murder at the End of the World (2024)
Stuart Turton
"Stu Turton has done it again with The Last Murder at the End of the World, the mad, alchemy-embracing bastard. A murder-mystery wrapped in a sci-fi allegory, it's utterly gripping, constantly confounding and will be another monster hit."
Thirteen Ways to Kill Lulabelle Rock (2024)
Maud Woolf
"With Thirteen Ways to Kill Lulabelle Rock, it's like Maud Woolf has joined forces with Tarantino and Edgar Wright to rip apart the crime/thriller genre, then remould it into something bad-ass and new. A genre-smashing, satire-mashing, ideas-packed gem of a novel."
