Three years ago, Lord Miles Colbourne, the Duke of Lymington, was tasked with becoming guardian to one of his best friend’s wards. Already having one troublesome ward in his home, Miles hesitated to take on another. Now, he cannot imagine life without Lady Georgie, as she does a fine job managing his affairs, even if she is something of a bluestocking. However, his friend Lord Ashbrook has returned to London and seems to want his ward back. Which is something of a problem, as Miles isn’t certain he wishes her to leave. In fact, he’s fairly certain he wishes to keep her!

Despite her initial hesitation, Lady Rebecca Georgiana “Georgie” Booth has come to enjoy living in Miles’ household. Yes, he is known as “The Grumpy Lord” but he truly isn’t that terrible. In fact, he can be rather charming. She has also found a home in Lymington House, one that gives her a measure of peace and safety she’s been without for so long. Now if only something could be done about Miss Alice Hastings, Miles’ other ward who is with child by an unknown gentleman, her life would be just fine!

When Miles’ grandmother arrives in London and packs up Georgie, Alice and the entire household so that they can retire to the country, Miles is given no choice but to follow. However, it soon becomes clear that being this close to Georgie is a temptation he cannot resist. No matter how much he should! Can Miles and Georgie find a love between them that will last or will other forces keep them separated forever?
