Caitlin Sweet

Caitlin Sweets first fantasy novel, A Telling of Stars, was published by Penguin Canada in 2003. Her second, The Silences of Home, was published in 2005. Between them, they were nominated for Aurora Awards, a Locus Best First Novel Award, long-listed for the Sunburst Award, and ranked in the top 5 of SFSites Best Novels of 2005. For a few years she was deluded enough to think that she might write some epic trilogies. Eventually she returned to her senses and wrote a stand-alone novel, The Pattern Scars, which will be published in fall 2011 by ChiZine Publications. Her work-in-progress is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast by way of Minoan Crete.

Weave a Circle Round (2017)
Kari Maaren
"Impossible sand, unfinished poems, Vikings, borks, dangerous deities, grade 9: Freddy Duchamp encounters all of these and more in the headlong adventure that is The House on Grosvenor Street. In Freddy, Kari Maaren has created an unforgettable, totally unique character: wry and scared, lonely and stubborn, angry and hopeful--but above all, determined to solve the mysteries she stumbles over, again and again, as she flits through time. The biggest mystery of them all is how she fits in--and the solution is as surprising as it is satisfying. This is a wonderful debut novel. I can't wait for Maaren's next."

Scion of the Fox (2017)
(Realms of Ancient, book 1)
S M Beiko
"In Scion of the Fox, S.M. Beiko introduces us to Roan, a wry, fierce young woman whose world changes in the blink of an infected eye. She’s more than she has ever imagined, and there’s enchantment everywhere ? flying, running, and swimming around her ? transforming everything and everyone she has ever known. Beiko’s magic-steeped Winnipeg is a marvel, and Roan is a delight. I look forward to following her into her next adventure."
