Abraxas serves his community as a County Sheriff and protector. Everyone knows him in the small town of Needles, California. For him, being a protector isn’t anything new. He’s been one for centuries. Something the good people of Needles are unaware of.

He has a fulfilling job and a group of great friends who know him, and he knows them. He should be happy, but he and his friends hide a secret, and all lack a critical thing- a mate. And in their world, it’s almost impossible to find a mate, especially when their various species are dying off. It’s an unrealistic dream, they believe.

Cerys is a nurse who moves to Needles to be closer to her grandmother, Twyla. And away from Las Vegas and her parents. She notices the handsome, stoic sheriff, but she’s unable to flirt or talk to him like she can other men. Her excuse is she wouldn’t be his type anyway.

After months of hidden longing for them both, they finally reveal their feelings. Only Abarxas is hiding his biggest secret. He wants Cerys desperately, but if he commits to her, there goes his chance of having a fated mate and children. Cerys is human, and they can’t bear shifter offspring. After misunderstandings, revelations, meetings with Oracles, and more, they’re on their way to a life together. Abraxas chooses Cerys as the one he loves and will have no matter what he has to give up.

Only there’s more than fate involved. There’s a hidden enemy that is revealed and threatens all shifters and the Sentinels of Apollo, the protectors of shifters of which Abaraxas, his friends, and others are a part.

Cerys and Abraxas will battle ancient enemies, Oracles, and even a god if they have to in order to be together. But even they have no idea what will be revealed. Abraxas’s Kismet is set to change the shifter world forever.
