Tod Bailey rides out of Dodge City a happy man. He has sold his herd, and the only job remaining before collecting his payment is to deliver the beef to the buyer's corrals. But his cheerful mood will not last long. Upon his arrival back at camp, he is greeted with utter chaos: his animals have been stolen by rustlers, his pard Packy Lambert has been killed, and his younger brother Thad is dying with a bullet in his chest...
