Emma Zook works as a nanny for an affluent Englisch couple. At the age of twenty-four, she's happy with her current circumstances. She loves the familye she works for and believes Gott led her to them so that she could be a help to Mrs. Allen, who is suffering from post-partum depression. She loves caring for their three kinner, but when the live-in housekeeper is found dead one morning, life gets much more complicated in the Englisch world.

Francis Palmer is a detective with the local police force and in charge of investigating the murder of Emily Patterson. He's immediately drawn to the quiet strength of the Amish nanny, the peace that seems to embody her life, and yet he's intrigued when she offers to help solve the mystery surrounding the housekeeper's murder.

Together, Emma and Francis will uncover deception, lies, and identify a killer, all while fighting their growing feelings for one another.
