Inga is a Queensland novelist and nature writer.
Her most recent novel, Nest, was shortlisted for the Courier Mail Peoples Choice Award, the ALS Gold Medal, and longlisted for the 2015 Miles Franklin Literary Award and the Stella Prize.
She was awarded a 2015 QLD Literary Fellowship to research and develop a new novel, Willowman.
Ingas first novel, Mr Wigg, was published following her participation in the 2011 QWC/Hachette Manuscript Development Program. Mr Wigg was shortlisted for an Indie Award and longlisted for the Dobbie Award.
Inga is also the winner of the 2012 Eric Rolls Nature Writing Prize, and was shortlisted for the 2009 Queensland Premiers Award for best emerging author.
Inga has a PhD in Creative Writing from the Queensland University of Technology. She has published short stories, academic and non-fiction articles in The Review of Australian Fiction, Clues, Writing Queensland, and the Dictionary of Literary Biography.
Her first career was as a professional writer and researcher, including for federal Parliament and the Commonwealth Ombudsman.
She is currently completing a second PhD, in English Literature, through the University of Queensland, which explores the history of Australian nature writing and its potential as an environmental strategy.
Inga lives among trees in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. She leads writing retreats, workshops and mentorships through Olvar Wood.
