An execution-style killing, a deadly conspiracy, and the spy who tried to leave her past behind.
It’s 1944 and Hitler has unleashed his deadliest attack since the Blitz, in a desperate attempt to win the war.
In the midst of the bombings, the British government faces another threat; terrorist attacks from a rogue wing of the Irish Republican Army determined to resurrect the ill-fated S-Plan Bombing campaign which killed innocent civilians in London and Coventry in 1939.
With security and intelligence services stretched to the limit, it’s left to Scotland Yard to eliminate the terrorist threat.
Chief Inspector Robert Delaney is recruited by MI5 and tasked with infiltrating the rogue gang, but there is one problem: the informant who managed to get near the terrorist group is now lying in the morgue.
Delaney faces an uphill task. He turns to an old colleague, an undercover operative who saved his life during Ireland’s civil war.
Maggie Carroll is struggling to raise her children while her husband is fighting on the front lines. It’s hard for everyone left behind but Maggie is Irish and faces constant hostility from English people resentful of Ireland’s neutral stance in the war.
When Maggie’s home is bombed, and she and her family are left homeless, Maggie is contacted by a person from her past. She sees an opportunity to get her children out of London and start a new life. All she has to do is gather information and deliver it to the right people.
It soon becomes clear that the stakes are higher than she thought. Facing suspicion from all quarters, every decision Maggie makes could be life or death; for her and her children.
