Hired hand Bill Young is on a cattle drive with Elander Stetin and his family, when tragedy strikes.
A band of outlaws abducts the Stetin family’s oldest daughter, Annette, the woman that Bill had grown to love and care for. Bill swears to her father that he will bring her back. But saving Annette is not the only reason why he chases after the outlaws.
The outlaws were none other than Harve Parsons and Clair Vest, the men who had tormented him and his fellow soldiers of the 6th United States Colored Infantry Regiment. While they had fought on the same side, Parsons and Vest had mocked, maimed, and tried to kill Bill several times throughout the years.
Bill had never sought out revenge. Now that the two outlaws had their hands on Annette, though, he would not hesitate to kill them.
After traveling through the vast land, meeting men and women who persecute him just for the color of his skin, will Bill defeat Parsons and Vest, and return Annette to her family? Or will his quest bring not only his own, but also Annette’s demise?
