D'Arragon's Axe

When young widower and toy soldier maker Nick Tallon buys Twayblade farm, he is hoping for a quiet life in the English countryside with his German Shepherd dog, Karl. What he discovers with skin-prickling alarm is that he has moved into a farm that is the centre of a blood-curdling, three-hundred-year-old feud. The rape of a young wife committed during the English Civil War had been avenged by her officer husband with ferocity, leading to the death of women and children.
