About Queen's Gambit
Tyrenkov is holding a gun to Fedorov’s head but Rodenko initiates a secret plan activated by the code Fedorov sent him--”Queen’s Gambit Declined.”
With the Raptor threat abating, Fedorov and Karpov launch themselves on a concerted effort to find the last of the missing keys for the Kamenski Device. Every key recovered increases the power of that box and gives them more control.
Then, they hunt down the German battlecruiser Kaiser Wilhelm in the deep South Atlantic, and after dealing with the raider to prevent the capture of the USS Norton Sound, Fedorov’s curiosity takes over and sends Baikal deep into Antarctica, where he hopes to investigate strange events reported by Admiral Byrd during the big American Operation Highjump in 1947.
Following Byrd’s flight path, Fedorov joins the Away Team and discovers a series of connected ice caverns and tunnels deep beneath the central ice dome near the South Pole, and something more... There, the team makes an amazing discovery, but Fedorov’s ambition in attempting to take it aboard Baikal poses a threat to the ship and crew, and one that extends nearly 80 years later in 2026, when Tyrenkov sends them on a relief operation to Russia’s northernmost outpost in the Arctic.
