As she pours out the sad tale of betrayal by her thieving husband, she does her best to keep up the spirits of the sympathetic investigating officer. But Orietta has seen justice served at last, and it is truly a work of art! One has to wonder, though: will the thieving, no-account husband be taken in for his own crimes, or bagged as evidence? The reader will have as much difficulty as Orietta is having keeping a straight face.

This dark comedy will appeal to fans of New Orleans noir and wronged women everywhere. A chilling, nevertheless cozy mystery, written in Orietta's warm, bantering dialect, that will leave aficionados of Clementine Hunter cheering.
