I was born in the quaint town of Bingley, England. History enthusiasts might recognise it as ‘The Throstles Nest of Old England,’ a name mentioned in the formidable Domesday Book.

Bingley is also just a short distance from Haworth, the beloved home of the Brontë sisters. My preferred among them is Charlotte, the brilliant author of Jane Eyre – one of my all-time favourite books. I have a passion for reading and watching anything that features dark, brooding, gothic Victorian mansions. Many evenings, I find myself escaping into the gothic world through books, movies, or TV series.

As a child, I dreamed of evoking emotions in others, and what better way to do that than by becoming a singer or actress? However, my innate shyness posed a challenge. Writing became the next best thing for me. Over the years, I dabbled but never took it seriously until I entered Yahoo’s writing competition. This global call for writers aimed to entertain children during the 2020 spring/summer lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite never having written a children’s story before, I embraced the challenge. My self-belief paid off, and my story, ‘The Diary of Primrose Goldie Gold,’ won and was featured in Yahoo’s debut edition of the STOR14S 2020 podcast series, narrated by Hollywood actress Megalyn Echikunwoke.

My first book, The Lyons, a gothic novel, was published in 2021. My second book, The Land Army Girls Are Here, a WW2 comedy-drama, followed in 2023. My third book, Deightonby Street, a comedy-drama set in 1944 was published in 2024. This makes me a multi-genre author, writing about whatever ignites my passion at the moment. So, stay tuned for the unexpected in my next book…
