Melody Wilder has moved from entropy to chaos.
She’s beaten a ruthless alien pirate/priest, survived being gored, but now faces far more harrowing obstacles: completing and defending her doctoral dissertation while simultaneously becoming the Chair of the Department of Quilton Studies — the first program of its kind anywhere in the galaxy.
Her challenges include obnoxious alien bear cub physicists, death threats from an angry (and very pregnant) amphibian, sleazy corporate jerks, and taking meetings with weird, beach ball-like aliens. Meanwhile, the Quilton who had saved her life and set her on this path is nowhere to be found.
Chaos abounds!
The physicists’ equations suggest Melody is rolling in luck. A representative from the Probability Guild insists it’s all just serendipity. And her best friend, a green, half-height, six-limbed alien who remembers things that haven’t happened yet, keeps bringing her pizza.
And then Melody’s mother shows up…
Maybe trading entropy for chaos wasn’t such a good idea…
Genre: Science Fiction
