Amaree was the last person Gammon should have met in a pirate prison and yet there she was - in his dark cell telling him what was, and was not medically possible. Even more crazy was finding out that she was there to rescue him.

A walking toddler had more experience with escaping that she did. He needed someone with elite reconnaissance training and a lot of guns. He would have to make due with what he had-which wasn't much.

She was slowing him down and by all that was holy he should have left her, but he repeatedly found himself searching for her, protecting her and needing her near. They were complete opposites in that she was too responsible and moral and he was a savage.

She shouldn't have been able to loose his mating call.
