aka Libby Malin

Libby Sternberg is an Edgar finalist, a Launchpad Prose Top 50 finalist, and a BookLife quarter finalist twice. She writes historical fiction, women’s fiction and more under the names Libby Sternberg and Libby Malin, and one of her romantic comedies was bought for film. Her retelling of a classic story -- a Jane-Eyre reiteration titled SLOANE HALL -- was one of only 14 books highlighted in the Huffington Post on the 200th anniversary of Charlotte Bronte's birth. DAISY, her refashioning of THE GREAT GATSBY is hailed by BookLife as "A delightful portrayal of a female character claiming the story as her own, repossessing her own voice."

Her adult mysteries DEATH IS THE COOL NIGHT and LOST TO THE WORLD have been described by Publishers Weekly as "well-crafted...blending operatic drama, sumptuous description and noir."

Writing under the name LIBBY MALIN, she is the author of humorous women's fiction, including the books LOVES ME, LOVES ME NOT, FIRE ME, and MY OWN PERSONAL SOAP OPERA. A major film studio bought the rights to FIRE ME.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she holds two degrees from a music conservatory and attended the summer music school at Fontainebleau, France. After graduating, she sang with opera and choral groups in the Baltimore-Washington area. When she lived in Vermont, she was active in education reform, served on the Vermont Commission on Women and contributed occasional commentaries to Vermont Public Radio.

The mother of three children, she lives with her husband in Lancaster, PA.
