After my wife left our family last year, my focus has been entirely on my two daughters and keeping them stable and happy. Learning how to do a bun for ballet was one of the first things on the list. It’s pretty clear that I don’t have time for romance.
Things get complicated when I run into my younger daughter’s third grade teacher, Elise, at trivia night right before school begins. Because the last thing I want to do is start up a romantic relationship with my daughter’s teacher. I don’t need complications, and neither do my girls.
But keeping her at an arm’s length is harder than it seems.
