Mystery writer Caroline Medora Sale Roe is the author of fourteen novels. As Medora Sale, she has written six police procedurals, including Murder on the Run, winner of an Arthur Ellis Award for best first novel. These books are set in and about Toronto and feature homicide detective John Sanders and architectural photographer Harriet Jeffries. As Caroline Roe, Medora used her PhD research on religious diversity in medieval times to re-create the character of the Bishop of Gironas Jewish physician, a 14th-century doctor with important patients and a nose for wrong-doing. Sale is a past president of both the international Sisters in Crime and the Crime Writers of Canada. She lives in Toronto with her husband when they are not researching background material in Spain.
