The Getaway House

(2023)
(The second book in the Seascape Shores series)
A novel by

Their villa retreat might be over, but for Tabitha, Camille, and Edie, the coastal adventure is just beginning…

The grand opening of The Getaway House is days away, and Camille Todd has every detail in place. The renovation is complete; the reservations are booked. But when a guest requests to extend his stay from one week to an entire month, Camille’s suspicions rise. And as she’s tidying up his room, she discovers a journal with detailed information no one should have: information about her sister.

Tabitha’s dealing with her own mystery, one that involves her complicated relationship with her ex-husband. After an accident that leaves Tabitha and Ben as their son’s main caretakers, she finds herself back in close quarters with the man she thought was out of her life forever. And as old feelings resurface, a startling encounter with her new coworker and competition for the position as Chief of Surgery complicates things further.

After a recent heartbreak, Edie has sworn off relationships. She throws herself into her work as the newly hired photographer at the Seascape Shores Aquarium, and spends her days with the sea life that inspires her from her lens. But a guest at The Getaway House also captures her attention, and just when a budding new friendship forms, someone from her past arrives with information that makes Edie question every recent decision she’s made.

(The Getaway House is the second book in a new series filled with later-in-life romance, strong female friendships, and a touch of oceanside mystery. Many of the storylines/relationships continue throughout the series, and it is best if the books are read in order from the beginning.)
