There are bound to be many more books based on experiences during the recent war in Iraq, and this novella addresses a mother's deepest concerns when her only son, Tyler, decides that God is calling him to join the fight. Meg Chilton supports her country and believes in the cause for freedom, but she cannot accept that God would do this, especially when she has seen the traumatic effects her husband suffered from his experiences in Vietnam. Only after she discovers old letters detailing the battle accounts of their family's ancestors does Meg begin to understand the true costs of freedom and the sacrifices that were made throughout history to preserve the life she lives today. Current events may make the military aspect of this title popular. Recommended for most public libraries. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
