Night of the Living Well-Read
(2020)(The fourth book in the Bookish Adventures in Witch-Lit series)
A novel by Rachael Stapleton
Night of the Living Well-Read is the fourth and final spellbinding trip for the Gas Lamp Lit gang. If you enjoy furtive feline familiars, love at first bite, and hex-raising situations, you'll want to take a trip with this kooky coven now!
Sera Popescu’s trust issues are becoming a real pain in the neck, or maybe that’s just the nest of vampires hosting them, one of whom, her boss calls family...
The surviving members of Bohemian Lake's adventurous book club have mostly recovered from their last terrifying journey into literary lunacy, and just in time too, because November’s featured author is Bram Stoker. Which means Nelle Storey, Sera Popescu, and the rest of the club are off to a small village in Transylvania to explore crypts, coffins and Carpathian castles, but have all the residents gone batty?
Sera thinks so, especially when someone is poisoned with tainted blood at a Sanguine ceremony. Things go from bat to verse when one of the member’s secrets come to light, giving the police motive for murder. Too bad the answers they’re digging for reek of upturned earth.
The final nail in the coffin appears when the castle's owner gets dusted. Sera realizes the coven’s mixed up in a nasty web of family secrets and age-old grudges but what does all of this have to do with Sera, her long-lost mother, and her familiar black cat, Medieval?
Throw in a stolen grimoire and a mysterious church of witch-hating vampire hunters, and you’ve got a bloody good mystery. Thankfully for Sera, her friends—Eve Banter and Daemon Wraith—have staked a claim in her life. Now, they must find the book before another member bites the dust.
