Sarah then moved to Edinburgh and worked as a freelance journalist for the Scotsman and Daily Express amongst other papers; she was also on the Scottish Council of the NUJ and become a visiting lecturer in Communication Skills with Queen Margaret University College.

She now lives in Kent with her family, and teaches creative writing with the University of Kent, and the University of Sussex, as well as running her own courses.She has a Masters in Writing with Distinction from the University of Glamorgan.
