Stribling sold more books than any author between the two world wars, and that includes Ernest Hemingway and William Faulkner. Stribling was the first of two Alabama authors to receive the Pulitzer Prize for Literature, the other being Harper Lee for TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. The book is a fictional account about the hustle and bustle of America from Congress to the daily newspaper.
