Olivia has been left reeling from one shock after another. Betrayed by her family and still trying to piece together the broken fragments of her life. The only person she can stand to have near her is Theo despite not wanting to admit her need for him.
Unfortunately peace has yet to return to the mysterious town of Mercy. The town is suddenly overwhelmed by the spirits of the dead, not just one or two but hundreds, and the ensuing chaos brings with it someone dangerous from Theo's past.
With Theo battling his conscience as he keeps a painful secret from Olivia, they must still try to find a way to force all the spirits back to the other side and close the door to the otherworld.
The problem is the door was opened on purpose and if Olivia and Theo can't figure out how and why it might just remain open permanently.
