He’s jingling all the way
and I’m ready to bah-humbug my way out of here.
All I wanted was a peaceful, holiday-free Christmas getaway.
No glittering lights, no annoying carolers just me, my music, a crackling fire, and some long overdue self-care.
What I didn’t plan for?
Duncan Templeton: the king of holiday spirit, and the charming billionaire who ghosted me a decade ago.
It has to be some kind of cosmic joke, right?
Thanks to a freak snowstorm, we’re snowed in with nowhere to escape and nowhere to hide.
He’s determined to make the best of it, from stringing up lights and baking cookies, to insisting we hang matching stockings.
Me?
I’m more interested in keeping my distance and counting down the minutes until I can escape.
Once the holidays are over, we’ll go back to being complete strangers who live on opposite ends of the country.
I’ll go back to being his estranged daughter’s best friend, since the last thing I want is to betray her trust, or come between the already fragile relationship between father and daughter.
As such, under no circumstances will I sleep with him again.
Or again.
Or one more time after that, to get him out of my system.
I’m not here to rekindle old flames, but the more time we spend together, the harder it is to resist his dazzling smiles, his easy charm, or his terrible jokes.
He’s determined to thaw my icy heart, but this time, I’ve got a secret that might freeze him out for good.
