Rising from the dead after his execution by firing squad, Casca escapes from Konigsberg and makes his way west, avoiding the armies of the vengeful nations intent on bringing Napoleon to heel. He finds rest at a Dutch farm and intends spending some years there recovering from the trauma of Russia.
But news of Napoleon’s return from exile and the gathering of a mighty French army just over the border compels the Eternal Mercenary to pick up his musket once more to stop the Corsican once and for all. He enlists this time with the British under the Duke of Wellington, the Iron Duke, and marches to battle once more, not knowing that his fate is to ultimately fight on a Walloon battlefield at the village of Waterloo.
