Luella has loved the kind and handsome, William James, since they were children. But that's one secret she's determined to carry to her grave.

Being the reserved child she was, Luella never allowed William to know her secret. Instead, she wrote out her feelings in a series of letters, letters of the heart that she kept hidden away from the rest of the world.

Now, five years later, and still harboring those same feelings, she’s horrified to find out that her mother unknowingly mailed every single letter she’d ever written to William.

Numb with panic, she makes an impulsive decision to travel back to her hometown of Loveless, Texas, praying she can intercept the letters before William reads them.

But when Henry, William’s twin brother, receives the letters instead—unable to remember the girl who penned them—he’s instantly intrigued and only grows more captivated when that same woman arrives at his front door. Without thinking, he pretends to be his twin, uncertain of his motives other than having the nagging desire to feel some of the affection Luella so ardently poured out into her letters for his brother.

With deceit hanging between them, and their feelings for each other ever-growing, another woman from Henry's past suddenly shows up, the same woman who'd torn out his heart on their wedding day. Buried emotions quickly spring back to life when she claims she still loves him.

Reeling, Henry's now stuck wondering if dealing with a lonely heart was easier than dividing it between two women.
