Alicia McCall:
My work as a doctor is my life. Almost every minute of every day I'm on the clock somehow. When I do make it home, I can't sleep because of vivid nightmares that wake me.
It's all becoming a blur. I don't remember appointments with patients. I show up at work on my day off, sure that I have a patient.
None of it makes any sense and it seems like the nightmares have started bleeding into my everyday life.
I can't tell what's real and what's not. All I can do is keep trying to go on and hope that somehow my life straightens out and begins to make sense again.
Dexter Dennis:
My neighbor is usually so calm and careful. Controlled. She has a schedule and she sticks to it. I'm in and out at all times thanks to my very popular bar on the edge of Wildwood.
Then I find her wandering around outside one night, completely spaced out. Another night she's screaming so loud the other neighbors call the cops.
Her anxious blue gaze keeps me entranced and I can't stay away. I know she's too good for me but that doesn't change what's happening here.
She needs help figuring out what's going on and I'm starting to think there's nothing I wouldn't do for this woman.

Memories have the power to bring a smile to our face, tears to our eyes, and many other emotions that you can’t always put a name to. What happens when you lose them? If you can no longer remember things that helped shape you? When you’ve forgotten necessary details? The authors in this series have accepted the challenge to find out. There are numerous reasons the mind can be impacted. These are just a few of them.

The mind may forget, but the heart always knows.
