Claire Bellingham was on her way to Paris to become a dress designer. But she needed money. Seth Montgomery was a Texan determined to recoup the losses he and the other ranchers had experienced because of drought, and floods. He got them in on a scheme to earn money, but before his plan could go into completion. One of their numbers Beau Bellingham died. He left his ranch to his granddaughter Claire, but she was allergic to Texas. Soon Claire found her place was with Seth in Texas, not Paris without him.
