Going home for Thanksgiving? That's not on my to-do list. When I get a call that my Great-Aunt Mimi, one of my favorite people on the planet, has passed, I can't say no. I pack my bags and head to North Carolina to pay my respects and settle her estate. The lawyer swears it won't take more than two days. My new job in D.C. starts just after the holiday, and there's so much to prepare. I've got big plans and lofty aspirations that don't include lingering in a Podunk town like Sycamore Mountain. Get in, get out, and then back to Washington. It should be as easy as pumpkin pie. If only the hot-as-sin mechanic would stop tinkering with my car and messing with my head. A fling isn't supposed to turn into my forever love---no matter what he says.

It's been a long time since anyone's made me as crazy as Gwen Burton. The first time I laid eyes on little Miss Big City, she made my head spin so fast I couldn't tell if I was coming or going. When she blew out of town faster than I could work up the nerve to ask her out, I swore I wouldn't make that same mistake twice. A death in the family brings her home. A flat tire brings her into my body shop. It's an easy fix, but once it's done, she'll be long gone.
