Dalko
Trust no one, depend only on yourself, that’s my motto. Until I meet her.
After landing a job on a ship full of hopeless romantics who spend all of their time making googly eyes at each other, I’m so ready to accept an assignment that’ll give me a break from all of that. It’s a simple mission — deliver the human grl to her family, then relax in an Earth bar until the Naldaeth comes back by to pick me up. Maybe I’ll even get laid.
I should have known nothing would go smoothly. Soon I’ve got a 12-year-old sidekick who goads me into participate into some bizarre human ritual. She says it’ll help us find a place to crash while we wait for the ship, but I can’t help but suspect that she’s in it for the candy, like the rest of the kids.
Then we knock on Luna’s door and everything I thought I knew about the world comes crashing down.
I thought the Zangrel lifemate bond would be something I could ignore, just a biological trick that would make me want her. It’s so much more than that. But still, I need to fight it. Even when she offers us her help. Even when all I want to do is wrap myself up in her and never let go.
The last thing she needs in her orderly life is us.
Luna
My Halloween plans consisted of a bottle of wine, a bowl of candy, and some monster movies. So when I let a 12-year-old girl and her dad into my house to use the bathroom, I never suspected that he was a real alien. Not until I accidentally zapped him with my Taser.
It was a malfunction, I swear. Although I did hear them plotting some rather suspicious things, and no one ever went into the bathroom.
It turns out that Dalko is the last person I should trust. So what if it’s kind of cute how determined he is to help this random human child? He’s clearly a dangerous criminal. But when the girl begs for my help, how can I say no? Soon, I’m whisked away from my orderly life and into a world of danger and intrigue and all of the crazy kinds of things a four-armed alien can do to your body.
It’s only temporary, though. I’ll be back being a boring librarian by Monday. Except Dalko makes me an offer that’s almost impossible to refuse: My own library, on a planet where the people desperately need books. The only catch? I have to leave everything behind, and take care of his cranky 12-year-old sidekick.
I kind of love them both already, anyway, though.
A Monstrous Mistake Multi Author Series
On Halloween night, the lines between fantasy and reality are blurred and the monsters have come out to play. Meanwhile, our human leading ladies are ready to celebrate the holiday in style - with some hot men in costumes. The only problem? They haven’t yet noticed that the fur and fangs on their sexy men are entirely real. Will mistaken identity lead to love, or have these women made a monstrous mistake?
