A widow lost in the Great Plains. A wagon train scout looking to prove himself. And a marriage they never expected.

After losing her husband and son to illness, Mary's only hope left was to finish her journey and make it out West. But after surviving a terrible accident during the river crossing, she finds herself all alone in the middle of the Oregon Trail. With her original wagon train long gone, she looks to the mysterious man who shows up on horseback to help her make it home.

Noah was used to scouting every inch of the plains. He'd seen it all. At least, he thought he had... until he finds a woman wandering through the prairie grass all alone. Focused on finding his way in a world full of prejudices, marriage is the furthest thing from his mind. But if he wants to save Mary, he'll have to make her his wife.

They both plan to annul the marriage when they finish their trip, but neither expects the emotions that begin to bind them together. Will their connection have time to grow or will the dangers of the trail halt their budding romance?

This faith-based, standalone novella is part of the Reluctant Wagon Train Bride Series by a variety of authors, but it can be read and enjoyed on its own.
