My leave is supposed to be relaxing, a time for me to process the hardships of deployment, package up all those feelings, and move on. Per usual.
Coming to the aid of a gorgeous woman who falls down a flight of stairs is not supposed to be part of those plans. I only mean to take her to the hospital to get checked out. That’s supposed to be it.
But when the doctor tells me she has a concussion and temporary amnesia and I’m literally the only person in the world she knows right now, I can’t leave her by herself. It goes against everything I am as a SEAL.
So here I am, sharing her home with her, and even helping her with a home improvement project that’s underway, as she recovers her strength and her memories.
And as I watch her remember some recent painful events, I can’t help but to step up in her defense.
Because letting this beautiful woman suffer goes against everything I am as a man.

All I can remember is a fall and the worst headache ever.
But when I open my eyes, a sexy muscular guy wearing a Navy SEAL T-shirt is leaning over me.
