One night, Mary is working late at the bookshop when a box of books is left at her door. All of them have beautiful covers by the same artist, and inside each book is an old letter addressed to man named Jacob. To Mary?s shock, the letters were written by her mother. And the last letter hints at regret that could change everything Mary and Betty thought they knew about her. Who brought these books to Mary? And how did they get her mother?s letters?
