Kennedy Warner couldn’t help but think back to the last summer she’d been in Seaside as the greyhound drew closer. She knew the sadness and heartache well of being away so long and felt bad about not seeing her parents more. She was arriving in her hometown in Oregon just in time for the Seaside Festival. Her parents maintained a booth to sell their goodies for as long as she could remember, and they did very well for themselves. The event was guaranteed to bring in thousands from the surrounding towns. She just wasn’t sure if she was ready for all that entailed. Kennedy hadn’t planned to come home at that very moment, but sometimes fate had other plans for a person and clearly, she was just along for the ride.
