In a presidential election year, rumors can kill--and as California senator Charles Boyd pulls ahead in the polls, he becomes a target. Soon after anonymous charges are made against him, the senator is found dead. It looks like suicide-- but is it? Innuendos of a love affair with the senator haunt Taylor Ferrari, Boyd's sensuous campaign manager. She becomes an unlikely ally with US attorney C. J.
