It’s 1884, and somebody just murdered the Placer County, California sheriff on the shores of Lake Tahoe. The Governor wants to know who, and he want to know now.
Former Wells Fargo detective, now Marin County Sheriff John Pope, is tasked with solving the case, and he’s stopping for no one. But a string of interrelated cases catches him off guard, and each one has to be solved in order to obtain the killer’s identity.
