Ten years after moving to Hollywood to take it by storm, my only credits are writing a few cheesy made-for-TV Christmas movies and playing the heroine’s best friend in them. With another holiday season in full swing, I want to be as far away from those festivities—fake or real—as possible.
So I return to my hometown for a visit. It turns out to be the worst place to escape all of the things I hate about Christmas movies. Over the top decorations. Spontaneous snowfall. Reconnecting with my first love who has grown up to be a hunky firefighter . . .
