When Lady Edmonton comes to visit her brother, Lord Dartford, at Thetbury Park, she resolves to accomplish three things:

I. To throw one of her famous balls,
II. To redecorate Thetbury Park and
III. To find her stubborn brother a wife.

She also settles on companions for her daughter, Lady Eleanor. Mirabel and Jane Neve from the Parsonage are the perfect choice with their lively and cheerful dispositions.
Mirabel is to visit Thetbury Park with her sister a few times a week and is happy to oblige for Lady Edmonton's sake. However, she does not relish coming into constant contact with Thetbury's cold and aloof master, Lord Dartford, who she feels always regards her with condescension.
Unbeknownst to all, however, Mirabel was abandoned as an infant at Thetbury Park. No one knows who her parents are but secrets have a way of getting out.

A traditional Regency for fans of Jane Austen!
