"The Queen is Dead, Long Live the Queen" was originally published in 2005 in Thou Shalt Not Kill: Biblical Mystery Stories, edited by Anne Perry. "Have you ever thought the Bible was ancient history, and you have heard it all before?" Perry asks in her introduction. "Believe me, you haven't heard it this way.
