Megan Whalen Turner

USA flag (b.1965)

Megan Whalen Turner is married to a professor and often relocates when he needs to do research. When they traveled to Greece one summer, she decided to use its landscape as the background of a book, but didn't write The Thief until she was spending a year in California, where the olive trees reminded her of the Greek mainland.

"Amber and Clay works the best kind of book magic, bringing to life gods and ghosts and philosophers. It is a rare treat."
thumb
Dangerous (2014)
Shannon Hale
"Maisie Danger Brown is Danny Dunn and Nelly Bly rolled into one. Hale mashes up her science and her superheroes with aliens and a terrestrial villain or two, then stirs in just the right amount of wonder and delight. I loved this book."
