A novel by

LEITH ADAMS (35+), shot up by badmen, stumbles into a camp belonging to the Rose family. The Roses are circus performers. Mama Rose saves Leith's life with her nursing and seamstress skills.

HERSCHEL ROSE (17), master acrobat, juggler and bareback rider, asks Leith to teach him to shoot. Later, Leith is amazed to watch Herschel juggle his spare pistol. Then Herschel draws the gun and fans it thoughtlessly like a juggler, sending six targets flying skyward. When he aims the pistol carefully, however, he can't hit anything.

Herschel's family is murdered. He sets out to find the killers. Herschel's gun work is wicked fast and he takes out seven killers with six bullets and an acrobatic trick. A newspaper reporter dubs him 'The Pistoleer' just moments before Leith arrives. "Pistoleer!" Leith laughs. "Herschel, what were you thinking?"

A hundred desperadoes wait for Leith and 'The Pistoleer' at a place called 'Hornet's Nest'.
