Octavo. Light green hardcover with colorful pastedown to front board. Blue pastedown features the Wizard, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow, all looking upward with their left hands stretched upwards; moderate rubbing to right edge. Spine is gone, possibly through insect damage. Back board has water damage to the left edge; heavy crayoning to the center. Endpapers are the Map of the Impasable Desert. Illustrations are in black and white, as the color plates were discontinued in 1937. Text is clean and relatively tight, though the hinges are starting. "Belongs to" box has a child's name in ink. Rfep has been torn out. 232pp. Good.
